Chez Georgette

When Erin Jackson first imagined a place for hip home accessories, she saw the kind of store that was friendly and fun, its merchandise arranged in funky, chic vignettes that provide an accurate visual impression of how the items might fit into the home. And her reasonably priced inventory would only look expensive.

Jackson has accomplished all of the above with Chez Georgette in West Chester. The boutique offers a unique selection of tableware—everything from Mexican pottery to brightly colored recycled glass plates from Spain. Vases, frames and even some exclusive jewelry lines round out her inventory—all of the items an easy-to-swallow $25-$50. “We have a wedding and gift registry that has become extremely popular,” says Jackson.

So far, shoppers have really responded to Jackson’s eye for what works in their homes. She welcomes them to bring in pictures of their shelves or mantels in an effort to help them accessorize. For a fee, she’s also happy to make house calls. “I love having my own business,” says Jackson, a former kindergarten teacher. “Being creative and helping others be creative with their homes is so much fun.”

What a bright and sunny addition to the West Chester shopping scene. Cheerful colors and whimsical items always bring a smile to my face whenever I take a trip to Chez Georgette. Whether you are looking for a unique home accent piece or a gift which is just right for a special occasion this is the place to come. I never leave without adding something else to own mental wish list.
