Just Opened: Snap Custom Pizza Debuts in Downtown Ardmore

The newest pizza hub in Ardmore caters to diners’ desires for perfectly personalized pies.

Snap Custom Pizza wants to reinvent your pizza routine. The newest pizza hub arrived in Ardmore on March 24, catering to diners’ desires for perfectly personalized pies, customized right before your eyes.

Consider Snap the Chipotle of pizza, melting the make-it-yours mentality with a gourmet menu. The endless fresh, seasonal toppings are lined up behind the counter, available visually for choosing, aside options of free-range meats. You’re invited—and encouraged—to layer your creations with an unlimited amount of ingredients. Better yet, the baking process is constructed with you and your time in mind, with the site’s high-end oven engineered to deliver brick-oven taste in about two minutes.

A breakdown of what’s in stock includes from-scratch traditional and gluten-free crusts, a five-deep roster of sauces (San Marzano tomato, herb cream, basil pesto, BBQ, herb butter), an array of cheeses (mozzarella, provolone, goat cheese, gorgonzola) and lots of proteins (pepperoni, sweet Italian sausage, slow-roasted pork, veal meatballs, applewood bacon). And, there’s more! Kalamata olives, house-roasted red peppers, and caramelized onions are just a few vegetable offerings, and finishing touches like cilantro lime crema, whole milk ricotta, and lemon oil are offered to elevate your Snap experience.

Not only can you create your own artisan pie, but tried-and-true pizza combinations are available too. We particularly have our eyes on the Kennett Square pie, an enticing combination of herb butter, roasted wild local mushrooms, house-made mozzarella and crumbled goat cheese, baby arugula, and truffle oil; and the Good Egg, which is sure to be an instant classic with its farm-fresh egg cracked atop just prior to baking.

Snap is housed in the former home of Peace A Pizza, and managed by the previous pizzeria’s seasoned chef, Tim Van Winkle. Its clean and chic industrial interior comes lined with white exposed brick walls and reclaimed PA farm-sourced accessories. The design, courtesy of Bryn Mawr interior designer, Hillary O’Carroll, of Isabella Sparrow, also features ultra-cool, locally sourced touches like rusted tables from a Gladwyne estate and handmade seat cushions from a Radnor Middle School teacher.

A grand opening celebration is scheduled for April 12, featuring $5 pies with unlimited toppings. The premier Snap Custom Pizza is located at 4 Station Rd. in Ardmore; visit them online at www.snapcustompizza.com.
