Top 3 Tax Day Deals & Themed Cocktails

We have you covered on where to go and what to drink on Tax Day.

Tuesday, April 15 is Tax Day and we think that calls for a drink. Whether you’ve been procrastinating until the very last second to file or you’re itching for a celebration, especially if a successful refund is already in your hands, we have you covered on where and what to imbibe as you dream of (or mourn) dollar signs.

Where to Go:

Brickside Grille is running a $10.40 discount for any check over $25. Simply, click here to print their coupon and skip over to Exton to gobble your Tax Day blues away over an ultra-fresh array of shellfish starters (drunken littlenecks, PEI mussels, oyster shooters, etc.).

Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant’s Maple Shade location is throwing the fun back into Tax Day by hosting a party to release their signature Full Nelson, a single-hopped American IPA. Head brewer Chris Lapierre cheekily decided to tap this grapefruity IPA on April 15 since some “may feel like the government has them in a full nelson.” If you need an extra special push to ease the Tax Day sting, he’ll also be releasing a cask-conditioned version of the Full Nelson, coined the Half Nelson.

Sullivan’s Steakhouse will be launching a Tax Day-inspired cocktail menu that’ll help release the day’s financial tensions. Hit the swanky King of Prussia bar for the dangerously delicious Sweet Tea Tax Relief (Smirnoff Vodka, Sweet Tea Vodka, lemon sour, iced tea and a lemon twist) or the terrifically stiff 1099 (Jack Daniels, St. Germain, Triple Sec, and Angostura bitters), and you’ll start wishing every day was April 15. Cocktails price at $7 apiece.

Cocktails to Create at Home:

Riding the procrastination wave and hoping to ship off your taxes just before the clock strikes twelve? Have no fear, one of these stiff drinks will push you into overdrive. Don’t worry, it’s always okay to have that second cocktail.

Consider stocking your home bar with the following ingredients and create the ultimate Procrastinator cocktail. Simply combine 1 ½ oz. CAMUS VSOP Elegance Cognac, ¾ oz. ruby port and ¾ oz. dry vermouth over ice and stir. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a lemon twist.

If 2013 was a particularly good year for you, why not celebrate with the Seeing Green cocktail. The fruity, lime green-hued indulgence is the perfect way to prepare for all that cash flow soon flying in.

Combine 1 part Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila, ½ part DeKuyper® Sour Apple Pucker, 2 parts frozen limeade and 2 parts apple juice in a shaker filled with ice. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve over ice and garnished with an apple slice.
