While you can’t go wrong with a nice brunch or dinner, if you’re looking to raise more than one glass to mom this Mother’s Day, then you’ll want to book a reservation at one of these local wineries.
Give Mom a sweet treat to go with her glass of wine at Chaddsford Winery’s cupcake pairing, available May 10-13. This seasonal, sit-down pairing will feature four mini cupcakes from The Sweetest Rose with Chaddsford wine: coconut cream cupcake with Chaddsford White, white chocolate raspberry cupcake with 2017 Artisan Series Dry Rosé, chocolate-covered cherry cupcake with the Red Standard and strawberry lemonade cupcake with Sunset Blush. Tickets are $20 per person.
632 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford, (610) 388-6221.
In addition to regular wine tastings, Penns Woods Winery will offer its Mother’s Day celebration from May 12-13. For $50, mom can enjoy a 60-minute yoga class with wine pairing, a wine tasting and a local farmers plate, and a souvenir wine glass and premium 6-bottle wine tote. Or if your mom’s more of a creative type, then come to Painting in the Vineyard from 12-2 p.m. and partake in a two-hour painting class by Pinot’s Palette, along with a glass of wine (May 12 only; $48).
124 Beaver Valley Road, Chadds Ford, (610) 459-0808.
On May 12-13, from 12-6 p.m., Black Walnut Winery in Sadsburyville will continue its tradition of offering complimentary standard wine tastings (five wines) for moms. If you want to elevate your wine-tasting experience, treat mom to Black Walnut’s signature cheese plate, local chocolates and two glasses of wine for $30. Reservations are available for groups of six or more.
