Coming to Ardmore: Brews and Bread Made Fresh at Tired Hands Brewing Company

Ardmore will get its own brewery, or “brewcafé,” with local eats and house-made bread to boot.

Main Liners should be happy to know—whether you’re a beer drinker or not—that a brewery will open its doors soon at 16 Ardmore Ave. in Ardmore. That’s right, a brewery. But probably not the type of brewery you’re thinking of. Tired Hands Brewing Company will be a “brewcafé” as much as it will be a place to try American and French/Belgian farmhouse ales. Don’t expect big burgers and greasy onion rings here. All bread will be made on-site, and the menu is simple, with a selection of local cheeses, meats and produce, plus quiche, stews and sandwiches.

Jean Broillet IV and his wife, Julie Foster, are the founders of Tired Hands. Broillet has a long history in the beer world. He began brewing at home, working later at Weyerbacher Brewing Company in Easton and Iron Hill Brewery in West Chester—all while going to school to learn the ins and outs of the beer business.

I’ll keep you posted on the brewery’s progress, but also visit tiredhands.com or the Tired Hands Facebook page.
