Today marks the official first day of Wynnewood’s Mad Mex, a funky, fresh Cali-Mex restaurant and bar that spotlights a soul-warming, from-scratch food program (enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas) and a sharp tequila and craft beer list. Joining its sister locations in University City and Willow Grove, the Mad Mex of the Main Line offers a generous 240-seat dining room aside a 27-seat bar.

What makes the newest stop within the Wynnewood Shopping Center even better? Its fierce Sunday Brunch menu. Every weekend, from 11 a.m.–3 p.m., locals can take advantage of its food and drink specials. For just $12, choose from one of four dishes and brunch cocktails.

Mad Mex’s signature brunch plates range from a mighty breakfast burrito (your choice of chicken, steak, shrimp or tofu), huevos rancheros, Mad waffles (chorizo, buttermilk fried chicken or peppered bacon-topped), or carnitas tacos layered with slaw and cilantro. Mid-morning cocktail options are equally as appetizing, from tequila-heavy choices like the Espolon Silver-built sunrise or Guajillo chile-infused Sauza-constructed Bloody Mary. The White Mexican cocktail splashed with vodka, Patrón XO Cafe and half and half is quickly becoming our number one pick.
