Anthony’s Cucina Fresca to Expand with a Tapas Wine Bar

Changes will include a bigger dining area and an elevated Italian menu.

Known for its authentic Italian flare and Neapolitan and New York-style pizzas, Anthony’s Cucina Fresca in Downingtown is now expanding both its menu and its building with a tapas wine bar.

The wine bar is being built along the back wall of the restaurant, where it will serve small-plate tapas and wines from Italy’s seven regions, including Piedmont, Liguria, Valle d’Aosta and Veneto. These renovations will also expand seating in the restaurant, breaking through the front wall to widen the quaint sit-down space.

A fire in 2015 forced the restaurant to relocate, so Anthony’s is no stranger to big changes. The restaurant has elevated its menu while maintaining reasonable prices, and with a new liquor license and an executive chef hailing from Italy, owner Danilo Angelucci is eager to serve the Downingtown community.

The cozy restaurant will remain open during renovations, so patrons can still get their fill of traditional Caesar salad, linguine with clams, plenty of made-from-scratch pasta and homemade chocolate cannolis.
