Délice et Chocolat Opens in Ardmore

After a soft opening, the French restaurant is now serving delicious sandwiches, sweets and coffee.

After opening its doors for a test run recently, Délice et Chocolat is officially up and running, ready to meet the French pastry demands of the Ardmore community. Its soft opening was met with overwhelming support, and the Amrani family—brothers Joseph and Antoine, and Joseph’s wife, Angela Cheng—are enthused by its reception. Their team has since grown to accommodate the restaurant’s needs, so head over and enjoy a taste of France with an authentic espresso and pain aux raisins.

You’ll know you’ve arrived when you spot the cascading tower of rainbow macarons framed in the window. Look beyond that to the case of dainty chocolates, fresh pastries, flavorful gâteaux and savory sandwiches, and you’ll soon find it impossible to pick out just one treat. And with your first bite into that buttery pain au chocolat, you’ll discover that you’ve stepped out of Ardmore and right into a Parisian café.

The authentic taste of the food, the je ne sais quoi feel and the effortless chic design of the restaurant can be attributed to the French Amrani brothers. Originally from Grenoble, the brothers both worked at Le Bec-Fin in Philadelphia before embarking on different culinary pursuits following its closing. Joseph’s business focus in the restaurant industry complements Antoine’s talents, which he developed at the Ecole Ritz Escoffier culinary school in Paris.

Their pastry shop resides in what used to be a tailor shop near the Ardmore train station, where the brothers continue to develop their dream. The macaron flavors are constantly changing, and there is talk of a future cocoa bar, as well as plans for in-house gelatos and ice creams.

Délice et Chocolat is open Tuesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
