The Bercy to Open in Ardmore this Fall

Joe Monnich and Justin Weathers will serve up classic French dishes and wines.

Following the enthusiastic reception of Délice et Chocolat, it appears that Ardmore has quite the appetite for French cuisine as it prepares to welcome the Bercy. Named for the 12th arrondissement of Paris—the Bercy District—this French brasserie will feature classic rustic French dishes like steak frites, duck à l’orange and tarte flambée, as well as a raw bar. There will be a full bar and wine list, complete with a cellar and large selection of by-the-glass options.

Behind the scenes will be Joe Monnich—former executive chef at Parc on Rittenhouse Square and former chef at Dandelion—and Justin Weathers—top manager with Starr Restaurants. The two come from Stove & Tap in Lansdale and neighboring Exton hot spots Al Pastor and Bella Vista.

The Bercy will be taking over the former location of Primavera Pizza Kitchen, which closed in June. The high ceilings and 20-foot windows add to the European charm of the 240-seat dining room, and the centrally located horseshoe bar will invite diners to enjoy classic cocktails and hors d’oeuvres along with each other’s company. Monnich and Weathers also intend on taking full advantage of the wood-fired oven and rotisserie already in the building.

Expect breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked à la perfection this fall.
