Some people are unfazed by super-spicy food. If you’re one of them—or think you can bite the bullet for one night, in hopes of winning some serious money—you may want to enter Chabaa Thai Bistro’s fifth annual Spicy Contest. The competition started Jan. 23 and continues with its qualification round thru Feb. 29.
How it works: Diners choose items from the special qualification dinner menu any night from 5 to 7 p.m. Each item is indicated with a different spice level, and the items consumed will be applied to the point system, which will inevitably determine the finalists. Ten finalists will be announced on March 1, and the final round will take place on March 13 at 6:30 p.m. The final round consists of eating several dishes with increasing spice levels—in just 40 minutes.
The first-place winner will secure $1,000 ($500 to keep and $500 to be donated to a charity picked by the winner). Second place earns a $150 gift certificate to Chabaa Thai and $150 cash. Third place walks away with a $50 gift certificate and $50 cash.
Sounds like fun, huh? Good luck!
