Pica’s Restaurant has opened its long-awaited second location in West Chester.

The original Pica’s opened in 1941 in West Philadelphia and then moved to Upper Darby in 1956. The Delaware County staple serves a menu of traditional Italian specialties like baked ziti, stuffed chicken cannelloni and lasagna, plus hot sandwiches, hoagies and salads.

Pica’s is best known for its square pizza with cheese on the bottom and sauce on top. Pica’s Pizza was even featured on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon when Tina Fey, an Upper Darby native, was a guest.

Pica’s West Chester location will have a similar menu to Upper Darby, but will not offer delivery or have banquet facilities. The restaurant will seat 230 and will have a bar.

Pica’s opened for pizza takeout on Jan. 19. Current hours are Tuesday–Thursday from 11 a.m.–10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11a.m.–10:30 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m.–10 p.m.

The restaurant will open fully some time in the next week.
