It may be old news to some at this point, but it you haven’t heard, Peter Gilmore has decided to close the doors to his beloved French BYOB Gilmore’s in West Chester.
After 11 years as a favorite dining destination on East Gay Street, Gilmore has alluded to a weak economy and sharp competition being the main reasons for his decision to close the restaurant. Gilmore is a Culinary Institute of America graduate and worked under Georges Perrier at Le Bec-Fin for more than 20 years before setting out on his own to open Gilmore’s.
What’s next for Gilmore isn’t set in stone, but a few recent interviews have mentioned Gilmore’s desire to move on to something unrelated to the restaurant business. Wherever he ends up, we wish Peter Gilmore the best and thank him for 11 delicious years.
