James Beard Foundation's Taste America Tour is Headed to Philly

All-star chef Marc Murphy will join local chefs on Oct. 13 at the Museum of the American Revolution for this once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience.

The Fifth Annual James Beard Foundation’s Taste America is a national celebration of food, making stops in 10 cities. This year’s festivities will take place between Sept. 22 and Nov. 11. This exciting series begins with a Friday evening benefit dinner starting with a pre-dinner reception featuring five celebrated local chefs, followed by a four-course menu headlined by a visiting Taste America All-Star chef and prepared with an elite team of notable local chefs.

In addition to raising funds to support the foundation and its programs, a portion of the proceeds from each dinner benefit a local culinary student through a Taste America Scholarship created in each city.

Philadelphia’s weekend-long Taste America program will kick off on Friday, Oct. 13 at the Museum of the American Revolution with A Night of Culinary Stars. The evening will begin with a reception complete with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from local chefs and restaurateurs, including Scott Anderson (elements, Princeton, N.J.; Mistral, King of Prussia), Nicholas Elmi (Laurel, Philadelphia), Richard Landau (Vedge, Philadelphia; V Street, Philadelphia), Camille Cogswell (Zahav, Philadelphia) and Nate Horwitz (Morimoto, Philadelphia).
