Two New Restaurants Coming to Newtown Square

Itching to discover a new restaurant? You can expect two brand-new eateries to debut this month in Newtown Square.

Newtown Square residents can expect a pair of new restaurants to open this month–one an expansion of a popular dining spot in West Chester and the other a brand-new concept that will offer both dining and entertainment.

Teca Newtown Square: Restaurateur Chris Scarduzio is teaming up again with Alberto and Roberto Guadagnini to open a second Teca location at 191 S. Newtown Street Road. Teca Newtown Square will be home to traditional yet contemporary Italian cuisine—fresh house-made pastas, whole fish, Neapolitan-style pizza—and an exceptional wine list. The 3,500-square-foot space modeled after Alberto’s Italian winery, Casali di Bibbiano, features a banquet facility, lounge-style bar and outside garden seating. Diners can expect the same moderate prices found at Teca in West Chester. A late November opening is planned; reservations are currently being accepted. www.tecanewtownsquare.com, (484) 420-4010.

The Crazy Sofa: With a promise to be “eclectic and colorful,” The Crazy Sofa will also open in November at 4755 West Chester Pike (next to Regal Cinemas in the Edgemont Square Shopping Center). Executive chef Edward Bonsignore, Jr. will be at the helm in the kitchen, which will be turning out daily specials and entrees in addition to a collection of sushi rolls, small plates, tapas and flatbreads. Starting during happy hour each night, The Crazy Sofa will be showcasing live music from local bands, pianists and more, who will entertain diners with jazz, rock, pop and piano music. Later in the evening, kick off your shoes and dance the night away. Look for the location to open in mid to late November. www.thecrazysofa.com, (484) 318-7273.
