Miss Winnie’s Opens in West Chester

The restaurant is serving up Jamaican favorites like jerk chicken and fried plantains.

Miss Winnie’s has joined West Chester’s dining scene, and you won’t want to miss its traditional, mouthwatering Jamaican fare. Stop by for lunch or dinner and indulge in classics such as jerk chicken, fried plantains and jerk pork sandwiches, or swing by on Friday and Saturday for adventurous dinner specials. Try foods like oxtail stew, curry goat or chicken platters, and barbecue chicken legs.

Father-son pair Bert (who’s also the executive chef) and Nick Johnston are the creators behind this endeavor, but the inspiration for the restaurant comes from Bert’s mother and cooking mentor, Miss Winnie. The restaurant honors her legacy and the warmth and welcome she instilled in family and friends through her authentic Caribbean cooking.

The restaurant is mostly carryout, but there are a few tables inside should you wish to eat in. Miss Winnie’s is open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
