Pizza is one of the most beloved foods—for a reason. Made with top-notch, simple ingredients, there’s nothing better. Speaking of, I heard about Nomad Pizza months ago and have been awaiting its arrival in Philly ever since. Its pizza truck—a 1949 REO Speed Wagon—seems to be at events all over the area. (You can’t mistake a truck with a wood-fired brick oven.) The restaurant will open in just a few weeks at the old Horizons spot (611 S. Seventh St.).
If you’ve been lucky enough to sample some of this pizza, you know it’s that good. I’ve tasted the margherita variety, made with bufala mozzarella. The restaurant will serve pies made with local produce, local nitrate-free pepperoni and prosciutto, and much more.
