Join the Oakmont Farmers Market on Oct. 13 for a fantastic four-course dinner made with local ingredients from, of course, the farmers' market. Limited to 45 guests, the dinner will take place at Kaya’s Fusion Cuisine in Havertown, with the menu cooked by Chef Mike Hawthorne. The first course includes local cheeses with fruits and accompaniments, and the second course features romanesco-and-purple-cauliflower tempura. For the third course, choose a braised lamb shank over roasted root vegetables, a Moroccan-style chicken or turkey puff-pastry pot pie, or heirloom pumpkin gnocchi in a ricotta-walnut sauce. For dessert, enjoy brandied butternut crème brûlée or spiked apple cider bread pudding. Just bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with your meal.
My mouth is watering!
Proceeds go to the Haverford Township Farmers Market Association—which, if you don’t already know, is a wonderful organization that brings the popular market to Haverford on Wednesdays.
7 p.m. $55. Call (610) 446-2780 for reservations. 5 Brookline Blvd., Havertown; oakmontfarmersmarket.org.
