38th Annual Chester County Restaurant Festival Returns Sept. 17

Sample foods from 65 restaurants, discover 110 arts and crafts vendors and listen to live music throughout West Chester.

Local foodies won’t want to miss the 38th annual Chester County Restaurant Festival taking place Sept. 17, from 12-5:30 p.m. Presented by West Chester Parks and Recreation, this gathering of local restaurants, bakeries and breweries dishing up delightful spreads takes place along Gay and Market streets in downtown West Chester.

Let your nose lead the way and sample foods from 65 restaurants, including The Split Rail Tavern, Amani’s BYOB, Root’s Cafe, Saloon 151 and many more. Save room for dessert, because Maggie Moo’s, The Sweet Lush Cupcake Camper, Yori’s Bakery and Gemelli Gelato will be serving up sweet treats that you’ll want to nosh on the spot.

The meal wouldn’t be complete without refreshments, so head on over to the Church Street Beer & Wine Garden, presented by Side Bar & Restaurant and featuring craft Pennsylvania beer, wine and cider. Sip on brews from Funk Brewing and Sterling Pig Brewery, or taste those fruity aromas in your glass of wine from Wayvine Winery & Vineyard. With fall just around the corner, a refreshing cider from Big Hill Ciderworks might hit the spot. Admission is $3 and alcohol sales are cash only.

Elsewhere, peruse crafty wares and gifts from 110 arts and crafts vendors. Eight bands will also be performing live at three locations— Gay Street at Matlack Street, Gay Street at Darlington Street and at the corner of Market Street and Church Street—throughout the day.

A number of streets will be closed for this event, so opt for the borough’s parking garages if you’re coming by car.Proceeds from the event benefit West Chester Parks and Recreation Send a Kid to Summer Camp fund. In the event of rain, the festival will be held Sept. 24.
