GFit Women to Open Location in Media
This marks the third location for the women-only fitness concept.
Popular fitness studio GFit Women has claimed new territory on the Main Line. The studio will open a location in Media, marking the third concept for the female-run company.
Owner and founder Alli Schwartz says Media was the perfect place for a new studio because of the strong and supportive community, something she fosters in her workouts. “I went into a Starbucks in Media wearing a GFit sweatshirt and all these women were coming up to me asking about the opening,” Schwartz recalls. “I was taken aback at the enthusiasm and friendliness.”
Though the Main Line is home to many top-notch fitness studios, GFit sets itself apart through a three-pronged approach to weight loss and health. Every member has access to an unlimited number of classes, personalized nutrition plan, and the community and culture that keeps GFit Women motivated.
“We have 18 year old superstar athletes and we have women in their 60’s, but everyone’s working out together at the same time,” Schwartz says. She also emphasizes that the environment is not competitive and every woman is rooting for each other to succeed. Trainers walk around during classes to offer modifications and get to know each participant and her fitness goals.
“Even if you’re doing a fitness class regularly, there is a routine to it,” Schwartz says. “But not here. Your body continually gets tricked to avoid the plateau, and then the nutrition takes it to another level.” No class is ever the same at GFit. Classes consist of a large range of activities, including body weights like pull-ups, a medicine ball, lunges and deadlifts during the 35-minute class. Every class is tailored to exercise muscles in all parts of the body in an effort to achieve better results.
GFit Women will host a grand opening on May 22 with a Lulu Lemon trunk show and free classes.
