HipCityVeg, a Philadelphia-based fast casual and vegan restaurant chain, is expanding to Ardmore’s Suburban Square. Slated to open June 8, the eatery will be located between Gap Kids and Pearle Vision.
The 50-seat restaurant, which will offer both indoor and outdoor seating, will feature an entirely plant-based menu, with dishes like vegan burgers, nuggets and cheesesteaks. The new location will also feature dessert options like milkshakes and a banana whip sundae bar.
For its grand opening, HipCityVeg is hosting a celebration from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on June 8 when guests can sample new menu items and enjoy balloon animals, a photo booth and face painting. HipCityVeg will also have free banana whip sundaes all day, with proceeds benefiting the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Healthier Together program.
Philadelphia-area native Nicole Marquis first launched HipCityVeg in 2012 in Rittenhouse. Since then, the restaurant concept has opened four other locations, with three in Philadelphia and one in Washington, D.C. Marquis also created two other vegan restaurants in Philadelphia—cocktail bar Charlie was a sinner and Latin-inspired Bar Bombón.
