What started as a routine playdate at a neighbor’s house ended tragically when one child injured a boy during a fire stunt in the backyard. “It was obviously a scarring event that required an intense treatment program for recovery,” says Ciccarelli. “Though it wasn’t a criminal prosecution, we needed to make sure the boy and his family received proper financial consideration after what they’d gone through.”

Ciccarelli was able to prove that the parents knew their son had issues with starting fires. “They lost control of the situation by not taking the proper steps to prevent this type of injury,” he says.
