“Understanding and Preventing Fraud in the Digital Age

Rob D’Ovidio, Ph.D
Associate Professor of Criminology & Justice Studies, Drexel University

You will learn:

  • Why it is not a question of “if” you will fall victim to electronic fraud but “when”
  • Why continuing education is important to reduce the chance you’ll be victimized
  • How to safeguard yourself and your organization against electronic fraud

When you are inevitably hit by cybercriminals, the consequences could be catastrophic. If you want to learn how to protect yourself, you must attend Drexel University professor Rob D’Ovidio’s presentation. Professor D’Ovidio, an expert on electronic crime, will explain how cybercriminals commit electronic fraud against people like you, then teach you how to reduce your risk and to mitigate the potentially dreadful consequences of a successful attack. Because cybercrime is ubiquitous and dangerous, we urge you to bring your friends and relatives with you to this meeting. Since it might sell out, please register as soon as possible, to guarantee your admission.

Dr. D’Ovidio is an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology and Justice Studies at Drexel University. He does research and teaches in the areas of computer crime, digital investigations and computer security. Dr. D’Ovidio’s current research examines methods to increase end-user adoption of multi-factor authentication solutions to prevent electronic fraud. He is a member of the American Society of Criminology and sits on the Computer Crime and Digital Evidence Committee of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. He provides regular commentary for media outlets on news stories pertaining to computer crime, internet safety, identity theft and electronic surveillance. Dr. D’Ovidio received his Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Temple University.
