Good Neighbor Day Volunteering with State Farm

Sep 22, 2017 to Sep 24, 2017

In honor of Good Neighbor Day, State Farm® and local nonprofits Philabundance, Project HOME and Together We Rise are teaming up to make a difference in Philadelphia. Together, they’re encouraging community members to volunteer at the Celtic Classic the weekend of September 22-24 to demonstrate how easy it is to make a positive difference in their neighborhood.

At the event, State Farm will inspire event goers and volunteer enthusiasts to stop by and participate in a variety of activities:

Friday, Sept. 22
4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Philabundance: Volunteers will build 1,500 family food packs of nonperishable items for families in food insecure homes, while learning facts about family well-being in the process.

Saturday, Sept. 23
9:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Project HOME: Volunteers will create cards and apartment kits for 1,000 families moving out of homeless shelters and into independent living situations.

Sunday, Sept. 24
9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Together We Rise: Volunteers will decorate and pack duffel bags with comfort items for 500 children in foster care. These bags are to replace the trash bags foster kids normally rely on to hold all of their personal possessions as they move from one foster home to the next.
