Liberty Forum: Labor and Birth Rights in Modern Medicine

Date/Time

Oct 23, 2019
07:00 PM until 09:00 PM

Description

In partnership with Intersekt Alliance, NLM's Liberty Forum series hopes to provide attendees the tools and discourse that allow for finding the middle ground and moving our conversations out of online echo chambers. We invite you to learn about your rights when it comes to labor and birth. As shifts and procedures in modern medicine occur, it can be difficult to navigate labor and the journey to becoming a parent. A panel of experts will be on hand to provide the tools you need to be an advocate for yourself.

Panelists include:
Brittany Sharpe McCollum – Owner, Blossoming Bellies
Asasiya Muhammad – Certified Professional Midwife, Inner Circle Midwifery
Beth Goldberg – Trainer, Birth Arts International and Owner, Douladelphia
and our Moderator, Cait Sumner – Midwifery Student, Birthwise Midwifery School
