Ten Thousand Villages invites the community to the grand opening of its new Bryn Mawr Village location on Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 19 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The new store will provide the community a space to purchase meaningful, ethically sourced goods that make a direct impact on the lives and communities of their makers in developing countries. Attendees will also enjoy giveaways, live music and henna hand art and indulge in fair trade sips and sweets, courtesy of Women’s Bean Project!
From culturally infused homewares like wall art, textiles, baskets and serveware to handcrafted jewelry and accessories, every handmade purchase generates sustainable income — and impact — for 20,000 makers in 30 countries. The new store will contain artisan-made accents, sustainably sourced materials, artisan videos, product collaborations and even repurposed fixtures curated from local markets.
