ARCE-PA Lecture Series at the Penn Museum

With Dr. Galina Belova, Director of the Russian Egyptological Institute in Cairo

Since 2002, a Russian team has been working at Kom Tum, near the Djoser Pyramid complex and the ancient site of Memphis. Excavations surrounding the Persian era palace of Apries have revealed other palaces, fortresses, and temples dating back to the Old Kingdom. This lecture will present the recent results of their excavations and what it suggests about the area over time.

Entrance fees for most ARCE-PA lectures are:

$10 for the general public

$7 for Museum members, Penn faculty & staff

$5 for students with ID
Free for ARCE-PA members and children under 5 (unless otherwise stated)
ARCE-PA does not sell tickets for the monthly lectures. All ARCE-PA entry fees will be taken at the door of the lecture venue at the ARCE-PA table (unless otherwise stated.) For additional information, contact ARCE-PA at
