Devon’s Design Trade Resources Brings Unique Items to Designers

Becky Wein created the store with industry insiders in mind.

When the iconic Marketplace Design Center closed its doors in Philadelphia more than two years ago, Becky Wein saw an opportunity. “The Main Line is filled with so many talented interior designers,” says Wein. “I wanted to bring the resources the Marketplace used to provide to the suburbs.”

Wein estimates that there are more than 120 interior-design pros along the Main Line from Paoli to Ardmore—and she’s one of them. Her new Design Trade Resources in Devon is a place where they can meet with clients and source everything from furniture to lighting.

The first of its kind in the area, DTR has created quite the buzz throughout the community. Only industry insiders can purchase products from Wein’s showroom. But her team can refer customers to local designers. “With the internet, people think they can do a project on their own,” says Wein. “We know how valuable it is to be able to come into a showroom and be able to touch, feel and experience fabrics, materials and furniture.”

Among the more than 60 designer brands available: Kelly Wearstler, E.J. Victor, Jack Fhillips, Ryan Studio and Ambella. Fabric lines include Sister Parish, Victoria Larsen, and Block and Brayer.

Wein also works with the neighboring Devon Tile and Exquisite Designs luxury bath-and-kitchen showroom. “We’re all female-owned businesses, and it’s great to be able to refer clients to each other’s specialty,” says Wein.
