Delaware County Community Foundation's Celebration of Philanthropy

The Delaware County Community Foundation hosted its fourth annual Celebration of Philanthropy event Nov. 10 at Springfield Country Club. “This year’s event was particularly exciting because of Doris Buffett,” says Peg Hendricks, DCCF’s executive director. Buffett, sister of financier Warren Buffett and founder of the Sunshine Lady Foundation, was recognized for her work in establishing the Delco Sunshine Fund at DCCF. Also honored for their philanthropic efforts: John C. Haas, whose family heads the William Penn Foundation; the more than 1,800 members of the 19 Delaware County Rotary Clubs; and Main Line Today magazine, which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for many area nonprofits.
