New Brews

We’ve been waiting for La Cabra Brewing to open in Berwyn for quite some time, and now the wait is finally over. Located just across the street from the train station, the new brewpub opened its doors on Oct. 25.

Dan Popernack, known throughout the region as a top-notch homebrewer with an affinity for brewing oak barrel-aged sour ales, is the brewer. The opening tap list includes mainstream beers like Juno, an American blond ale; Dags, an English bitter; and Leo, an American-style IPA.

The kitchen is run by executive chef John Hearn, formerly of General Warren Inne. The menu focuses on Latin-inspired gastropub fare. Dishes include black bean and maitake empanadas, chimichurri flank steak, jerk chicken tacos and more.

KOP Additions

Honeygrow joined ranks with Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse, Fogo de Chão, Paladar Latin Kitchen and Naf Naf Grill and opened on Oct. 24 in the King of Prussia Town Center. This is the sixth location in the Philadelphia region.

Anchored by a unique "silo" like feature, the 2,400-square-foot location was designed by Jennifer Carpenter Architect. The interior features photography by local Philadelphia photographer Billy Cress and marker boards illustrated by Lizzy McErlean.

The menu showcases locally and seasonally sourced ingredients including freshly made egg white and whole wheat noodles, sauces and dressings made from scratch and antibiotic- and hormone-free proteins from Creekstone Farms and FreeBird.

Bottle Shop

The Wegman’s at King of Prussia is now selling wine by the bottle. It will work similarly to beer sales, with a four bottle carry-out limit and purchase at a separate cash register. Wegman’s expects to receive approval for wine sales at other area locations in the near future.
