Game On
Haverford School Parents’ Association Gala
The Haverford School Parents’ Association hosted its annual fund-raising gala Nov. 1 at the institution’s Field House. Its “Get into the Game” theme seemed appropriate, as the more than 350 guests were still in celebration mode after the Phillies’ World Series win. The Phillie Phanatic and the Philadelphia Soul cheerleaders were in attendance, and headmaster Joe Cox was honored for his 10 years as “head coach” of the prestigious boys’ school, which is celebrating its 125th birthday this year. Culinary Concepts catered a sit-down dinner, incorporating the sports theme with bite-size hot dogs on petite buns, Philly cheese steak triangles and more. During live and silent auctions, guests bid for the opportunity to be an honorary Phillies bat boy (or girl) for a day, a VIP package to the 2009 Walker Cup, and courtside seats to the 76ers.
