Halpern spends 20 hours a month creating necklaces, rings, bracelets and more for OIAdesign, a line of silver-and-gemstone jewelry. Her signature is a combination of irregularly shaped labradorite stones, silver and gemstones. Some concepts are more challenging than others, like the turquoise-and-pearl necklace that’s been years in the making. “I’m not trying to be Harry Winston,” she says. “I’m just trying to have fun making timeless pieces.”
