» The great cleanup: If de-cluttering is high on your spring to-do list, you might want to take advantage of “Organize to Economize,” this month’s community event sponsored by the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers. Head to IKEA in Conshohocken on March 13 to shred paperwork and recycle computers and other electronic equipment free of charge.

Wiggins Shredding of West Chester will provide trucks for all that paper, and the Audubon-based charity Team Children will haul away the electronics. Stick around for free gifts, prize drawings and in-store presentations by professional organizers covering various areas of the home, including the kitchen, living room, bedroom, office, storage spaces and the kids’ playroom. “Being organized can absolutely save you time, money and energy,” says Broomall’s Debbie Lillard, author of 2007’s Absolutely Organized: A Mom’s Guide to a No-Stress Schedule and Clutter-Free Home.

Learn more from Lillard and other experts at the event. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. 400 Alan Wood Road, Conshohocken. Visit napo-gpc.org.
