Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s Lemon Ball

More than 800 guests came out to support the family of Alex Scott in their fight against childhood cancer at Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s fourth annual Lemon Ball event. Held Jan. 9 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, the event raised more than $600,000 for the cause—the most money raised in Lemon Ball history. CBS 3’s Tracy Smith and Chris May emceed the event, which featured entertainment from Brandywine Valley Talent and a special performance by American Idol finalist Jordin Sparks. Meanwhile, at the live auction, a major bidding war ensued for Liz Scott’s famous lemon cookies, which ultimately went home with the final bidder for a record $14,000.
