Gladwyne

The name Gladwyne evokes a well-to-do lifestyle. Indeed, the area has its estates on hefty acreage, lesser but still impressive domiciles, the upscale retirement community Waverly Place, Philadelphia Country Club, Stony Lane Swim Club, and the wide-open spaces of Rolling Hill Park and Bridlewild Trails. But charming, smaller homes populate the banks of the Schuylkill River, and residents throughout the locale gravitate to the four square blocks of Gladwyne Village at Youngsford Road and Righters Mill Road, where shops cover a spectrum of needs and Joe the Bartender mixes a mean Manhattan at the rustic Guard House.
