West Chester

The seat of Chester County government since Revolutionary days, West Chester is home to West Chester University, Chester County Hospital, shopping pioneer QVC, plus a vibrant arts and entertainment scene that places the community at center stage. Like the Delaware County seat, Media, it has a classic courthouse in the heart of town and an eye for down-home ambiance. Like Paoli, it originated with an inn—in this case, Turk’s Head—that served as a magnet for weary travelers and spirited locals.
