The Main Line's Most Stylish Women: Woodward Properties Owner Kathy Woodward

Shoes, shoes and more shoes—and a closet to hold them all. Woodward isn’t shy about her shoe addiction, and isn’t keen on quitting any time soon.

Kathy Woodward went through a six-month renovation to get the ideal closet and master bathroom she enjoys in her Newtown Square home. And now that she and her husband, Woody, are empty nesters, she has multiple closets throughout the home devoted to shoes and accessories.

Style: “Expensive and sexy with an edge; it’s not just all about the label for me. I tend to gravitate to the higher-end items in every store.”

Where she shops:Barbara Ellick in Narberth and Elizabeth Maar in Newtown Square and Haverford are my go-to boutiques. They know my style and call whenever they get a must-have item.”

Designers in her closet: Manolo Blahnik, Michael Kors, Miu Miu, Brian Atwood, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Alice + Olivia, Valentino, Robert Rodriguez.

Most treasured item: “My shoes. They even have their own special closet; my husband built it for me himself. I used to spend a lot of time searching through boxes to find what pair I wanted to wear. Now they’re all laid out on the shelves on display, which makes the decision so much easier.”

She has too many: Bathing suits. “I have more than 100 hanging on hangers—I really love the beach.”

She’d love to add: “More space, plus a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes.”

Most sentimental item: “I’m not very sentimental about my clothes, but I always shop with the goal of looking and feeling good for my
husband. I love getting dressed up for our date nights, even after 37 years.”

Would never part with: “My wedding dress. I’d love to one day take it apart and make christening outfits for my grandchildren.”

Recently added: “I just got a few really great black leather pieces for fall, including a coat, vest, skirt and leather-accented blouse.”

Big splurge: “On a trip to Delray Beach, I stopped in a little shoe store called Foot Candy, where I fell in love with a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti shoes with a price tag that took my breath away—but I had to have them. I felt like a kid in a candy store.”

Eyeing: “A pair of bow-trimmed, leather, over-the-knee boots by Valentino. In black, of course.”
