Limoncello Brings Modernized Old World Vibes to Chester Springs

The second iteration of the West Chester favorite offers nearly 400 wine choices.

Like its namesake liqueur, Limoncello Ristorante is classic, delicious and refreshing. And the newer sister to the popular West Chester original has chef/owner Paul Mingrino creating his own family-inspired ambience in a 200-plus-seat eatery.

As in WC, Limoncello Chester Springs has an updated Old World vibe, with dark paneled walls and sleek marble tabletops. The steady hum of conversation is a given among patrons, which range from families to couples to white-collar after-work types.

The rather extensive menu has multiple highlights. The kitchen does a remarkably tender calamari fritti, and the roasted-beet-and-goat-cheese salad is excellent. The pastas and pizzas are solid, while house-made bruschetta and crusty bread kick off every meal on a savory note. Anything on the dessert menu is a good bet, but I recommend the light-as-a-feather crème- brûlée crock and the authentic cannoli.

The wine list boasts over 400 choice bottles, with classic reds and whites there for all to see in the wine room. Along with select vintages by the glass, standout cocktails include the signature sour Limoncello Martini, the Golden Margarita and the Old WC Fashioned. Bottled and tapped craft brews round out the varied list of libations. And don’t pass up the complimentary limoncello.
