Dr. Wendy Hill

Head of School, Agnes Irwin School

During her 25-year career at Lafayette College, Dr. Wendy Hill’s specialty was animal behavior. “The classes I taught were about biology and the behavior of termites, fish, birds and everything in between,” she says.

Hill is now overseeing a different sort of behavior as head of school at Agnes Irwin, where she began her tenure in July. But leadership is nothing new to the former provost and dean of faculty at Lafayette. “I loved teaching, but my time as provost was [also] rewarding,” says the Rosemont resident. “I enjoyed looking at the academic institution from operational and strategic standpoints. We put more emphasis on integrated teaching and research.”

What attracted Hill to AIS? “The clarity of Agnes Irwin’s mission resonates with me,” she says. “It’s about empowering girls to find their voices, so that they can become leaders, and to lead gratifying, meaningful lives.”
