There aren’t too many things better than a well-made roast pork sandwich. A few really good ingredients is all it takes—and the sandwich gurus at A Cut Above have those covered: layers of hot, seasoned pork, roasted sweet peppers and sharp Provolone, stuffed between a Sarcone’s roll. Succulent proof that deli-fresh hoagies aren’t this Delaware County institution’s only specialty.

From 2015: Come hungry, as you’re sure to destroy any of the nine gut-busting Italian hoagies on the menu. Just-sliced Italian deli meats and cheeses topped with lettuce, tomato, EVOO and spices are stuffed into rolls baked daily by South Philadelphia’s Sarcone’s Bakery. Want more toppings? Just ask. Newbies should start with a regular, as the whole clocks in at almost two feet.
