From 2011: Seats at Chef John Brandt-Lee’s chef’s table are some of the hottest in town—and not just because you’re dining directly in front of the open kitchen. As billed, the multi-course, family-style Italian meal is prepared by Brandt-Lee himself, with diners’ tastes, preferences and wine choices in mind (it’s a BYO). Gather up to five friends or family members, and you’ve got yourself a special night out—and one delicious meal.

From 2013: Creative, rustic Italian trumps a liquor license any day. Pair your favorite libations with exceptional, locally sourced dishes like veal agnolotti dal plin, grilled beef cheeks, lamb Bolognese and cioppino, embark on a four-course small-plates tour, or let the chef choose at his own table. Whatever you do, don't skip the outstanding cheese-and charcuterie plate.
