Best Tasting Room 2016: Housed in a beautifully renovated 200-year-old bank barn in the Chester County countryside, Black Walnut’s tasting room is quite cozy. But the real draw is the outstanding view from its
outdoor deck and patio.

Best Port Style Wine 2015: Black Walnut’s indulgent ports come in two varieties: red and white. Winemaker Lance Castle starts with fantastic house-made vintages and then fortifies them with locally distilled brandy made from Black Walnut wine. Buy this limited offering while you can.

Best Night Out, 2014: With regular wine-pairing events and live music on weekends, Black Walnut has upped its game to become more than an occasional destination. The 2011 sauvignon blanc is worth a taste, as are the two port-style
wines and the 2010 syrah.

From 2013: On select Saturday nights, Sadsburyville's Black Walnut Winery hosts local musicians for a free show at its Phoenixville tasting room. Belly up to the bar and order a flight of seven one-ounce pours for just $6. Wine can also be purchased by the glass or bottle. Tables fill up quickly so get there early.

The Black Walnut Winery can also be found in Phoenixville
