From 2011: Innovative and sophisticated, this unassuming Lancaster Avenue spot has a knack for marrying quality seasonal ingredients with clever, European-influenced preparations. We love just about everything, from the espresso-braised short ribs to the mouthwatering house-made desserts.

From 2013: Brian Engler's petite, contemporary American bistro - unique for its flair of French influences and use of local farms - plants an upscale, city-worthy dining experience along Lancaster Avenue. Inside the unassuming facade awaits a culinary symphony of wild mushroom tarts with truffle oil, roasted duck with apricot gastrique, and chocolate gâteau. A four-course weekday prix fixe is available for $40; Sundays are givebacks, with 5 percent of all bills donated to a local charity.

From 2014: Executive chef Stephan Stryjewski’s ever-changing menu allows for plenty of new and exciting culinary experiences. Contemporary American highlights include Hawaiian butterfish and braised short ribs. Among the innovative specials: seared foie gras, skate cheeks and roasted rabbit loin.

From 2015: The next time you dine out, leave the decision making to Sola’s executive chef, Colin Mason. Formerly of Fork and Nectar, Mason offers innovative contemporary-American plates infused with French flavors.
