Part gift store, part mini-museum, Tillman's decade-old business capitalizes on her long-held ties to the local arts and crafts community, including those working in textiles, wood, glass and found objects. She also has a knack for grouping functional items - lamps, trays, clocks, mirrors, even tiny measuring spoons and salt-and-pepper sets- in ways that maximize their funky diversity. No dripping clocks and lobster phones here. This year, it's boxes with miniature portraits of artist Frida Kahlo, beaded purses, and the sort of jewelry Kahlo might've coveted had she encountered a store like Tillman's.
