Last week, we asked you what your favorite local apple cider donut spots were. We received thousands of votes and have tallied the results. From small bakeries to sprawling orchards, here are the winners.

1. Sweet Freedom Bakery

For those with food allergies or intolerances, bakeries can be a tricky place.  Thankfully at Sweet Freedom Bakery in Bryn Mawr, you don’t have to worry. The gluten-free, dairy-free, casein-free and egg-free bakery opened their third location on Lancaster Avenue in 2014 and have been drawing crowds ever since. Those allergen-sensitive sweets have also earned them two Best of the Main Line & Western Suburbs picks for Best Gluten Free Options in 2016 and Best Dairy-Free Sweets in 2017.

1039 Lancaster Ave., Bryn Mawr.

2. Northbrook Marketplace

Family-owned and operated, this West Chester gem is located in a restored 1850s fieldstone barn. Their apple cider donuts are made fresh, and are even made into an indulgent apple cider donut French toast dish, available on Sundays for brunch. It’s no wonder the market made our 2016 Top 40 BYOBs list.

3. Highland Orchards

Stretching more than 200 acres, this West Chester farm offers cider donuts all year long. You can pick your own produce or purchase it in their market, along with homemade pies, cheese and other goods. Hayrides, a corn maze and apple and pumpkin picking round out the fall fun at Highland.

Fresh produce, baked goods and gourmet specialties from throughout Pennsylvania and around the world are also offered at their farm market. What’s more, this beloved orchard is a four-time Best of the Main Line & Western Suburbs winner.

5. Beiler’s Doughnuts

Owned and operated by the same family for more than 30 years, Beiler’s Doughnuts is a must-visit in Philadelphia’s Reading Terminal Market. In recent years, they expanded to a second location in University City and a third in Lancaster. All of their baking is done on-site.
